AmaChron the Entertainers has done more that 7,000 dances entertaining more than 1,720,000 people.

HISTORY:

The first dance entertainment by AmaChron was done April 3, 1970, at the Jubilee Roller Rink in Amarillo. However, music for this type of activity had been provided as early as March 1965, when the AmaChron Chronocontrol sound system was hauled to Palo Duro High School for a journalism class event during "49ers Day".

In the early 1970's, most bookings were for birthdays, back yard parties, and private events. By 1975, local schools had discovered this new "disco" form of entertainment which provided a higher quality of music reproduction and presentation than a live band . The first prom done by AmaChron was for Pampa High School in 1976. The disco era boom of the late '70's, brought a great increase in business and AmaChron became the established leader in the field.

AmaChron the Entertainers operated as the Z-93 Entertainers from 1976 through 1992.

AmaChron units were traveling up to 300 miles for events by 1980. Sponsors called from the five state area around Amarillo to book their events as much as a year in advance. Additional units were added to the fleet to meet the demand and by 1985, there were more than 350 dances a year.
